This is a boiler plate memorial which is common in South Jersey to honor fallen firefighters from the company. This one reads:
"National Park Fire Dept. No. 1 Organized 1908 In memory of our members, Donated by the Ladies Auxiliary '68"
The station itself serves the town of National Park, NJ, so named because it is the home of the Fort Mercer National Park. The town itself covers an area of approximately 1 square mile and is surrounded on 3 sides by West Deptford Township, and on the fourth by the Delaware River.
Members from this station will also respond to many calls from local municipalities. It has been active since 1908 and is a cornerstone in this tightly knit community.
