This memorial lists the veterans of each war from the French and Indian War to the Persian Gulf. Here the veterans of The Spanish-American War will be highlighted.
The height of the memorial is about 20 feet and the column bearing the names is about 24 feet around. It is made of granite and stands in a small park in the center of Suffield. Two of the six sides bears large bronze plaques with the names of the wars and the veterans listed underneath, the other four sides, the lists are carved into the granite.
There is a bronze plaque on a separate granite block listing the major private contributers to the development of this monument. It was erected by the Rogers Memorial Studio in 2003.
This monument is impressive for the size of the town it is in.
