Outside, and to the side, of the City Pillar Shrine for the province and town of Chanthaburi (WM9ART) is a bell. Approximately 1/2 metre high, it sits inside an open red frame. The bell has engraved upon itself, raised Chinese characters, gold in colour. Rather attractive (in a manly way). Visitors to the Shrine are welcome to ring the bell as part of their devotions, as are waymarkers.
The bell is the usual 'Asian' bell, without a clapper. The sound the bell makes is perhaps less loud, but more resonant and longer lasting.
