This mural is done using the technique of Pointillism, a meticulous visual illusion using dots of color to create images. The dots of color create the shades used to indicate shapes. (visit link)

This technique was pioneered by Georges Seurat, who spent two years painting 'Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte'. The original now hangs in the Art Institute of Chicago (visit link)

Sadly, this breath-taking reproduction is not signed by the artist. In addition, the stucco either was not applied correctly over the brick or the mural has been vandalized. But the effort the artist put forth to use pointillism to create a full building-sized mural is testimony to this artist's love of art and patience.
