BOUNDARY POST 54 OH-MI - U.S. Historic Survey Stones and Monuments on Waymarking.com

Located in the city of Sylvania in Lucas County at NE corner of lot at 7604 Grenlock, at the Ohio-Michigan state line. Post is light gray granite 69 inches long 12 inches square with the top 18 inches dressed to 8 by 10 inches. Lettered on north side "MICHIGAN", on south side "OHIO", on east side "STATE LINE", and on west side "POST 54". Base of post embedded in concrete, top originally projected 18 inches above ground, and currently projects 24 inches. This post is located on private property and is not accessible without permission. To Post 54A, true bearing is N 88 00'44" E, at a distance of 4122.9 feet.

Also recovered near the post was a Monroe County remonument mark 27 feet N of Post 54, and it is witnessed. See photos.

This station is in the city of Sylvania. To reach from the intersection of Main Street and Erie Street in Sylvania, proceed west on Erie St 1.15 miles to Jeffery Lane. Turn north on Jeffery and proceed 2300 feet to the dead end. Turn right on Grenlock and park at the dead end. The mark is directly north 190 feet on private property.
