It was first mentioned in 1557 as documented by Eberhard they testify lies in his will.
Lord Acton Dalberg-sold the property in 1883 to Cornelius Wilhelm von Heyl to Herrnsheim.
Since 1957 the castle belongs to the city of Worms.
