Galisteo is a picturesque village in Santa Fe County, NM. Galisteo is full of classic New Mexican architecture of adobe structures, set against low rock walls and beautiful, huge cottonwood trees.
Before the days of Spanish influence in the Southwest, Galisteo was the site of an Indian pueblo which, in its heyday, had more than a thousand inhabitants.
Galisteo's golden sky and prairie have become home and inspiration for many world-famous artists. In addition, many movies are filmed in and around the area.
Galisteo means "village of many names" and is now inhabited by some two hundred people of many nationalities.
