Are your kids totally fried after walking the boring Freedom Trail? Are they needing some time away from historic plaques and people in funny outfits? If you're up Bunker Hill-way, consider taking some time to visit Flaherty Park.
The playground is a bit of a way off the beaten track - 1/2 mile, in fact - so that might dissuade the little ones from hiking all the way up the hill. But the surrounding park also has a spray fountain, so if the day has been a scorcher, you can have them cool off.
