At this discreetly marked crossing, the traveler passes between Easton (Northampton County) PA, and Phillipsburg (Warren County) NJ.
This bridge is operated by the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission, but is actually NOT a toll bridge! It is also known as the "Free Bridge" in contrast to the span just to the north which is a toll bridge.
There are 2 pedestrian walkways on either shoulder of the bridge, but no notation of the actual border. In a discussion with one of the bridge attendants, he mentioned that he once drew a chalk line at the exact location of the border, which was promptly washed away by a rain.
