An interesting Wat in a rural setting.

This Wat is found on the inland road between the towns of Pattaya and Rayong, route 36.
The Wat itself shows signs of age, but is in the middle of what looks to be a major reconstruction, with both refurbishment and new construction. During my visit I saw only workmen, no monks.
The most interesting feature of the Wat is a medium sized Shrine overlooking the highway. The Shrine is of new construction (not entirely complete in July 2010), with a large Buddha image, of an entirely unique (in my experience) design. The face of this Buddha is different from anything I have seen elsewhere. The remainder of the Wat contains the usual range of facilities, spread over a wide area. There are no nearby towns or villages. The Wat sits alone.
