The City of Tempe enjoys their sister city program, so much so that they set up this garden as a monument to their sister cities and those who worked with their programs.

Tempe Sister City Organization sponsors student, teacher, practical and professional exchange programs with Tempe’s eight international sister cities. Tempe's Sister City Garden honors all of those involved in the many programs both in Tempe and those from each sister city.
This garden is filled with plaques dedicated to those who worked with the sister city programs and those students and teachers who came from the sister cities each year. Information is provided on the many plaques in the garden about individuals and cities. There are also plaques to those who have passed on. In this garden one can find the history of Tempe's sister city programs through the many individuals involved with it.
At first, you walk down a tree and boulder lined pathway with plaques set up for each year of the student and teacher exchanges listing those who participated and where they came from. Then you encounter 3 round monuments with plaques on them for the individuals who were actively involved in the programs. Nearby is a memorial wall for those who have participated in the program and since passed away.
A ramada with picnic tables allows one to sit and stay awhile in this somewhat private garden. The picnic area can host parties of up to 200 people.
The photos I have posted include one of the main entrance to the Sister City Garden, the walkway with plaques for the students and teachers that participated each year, 1 of 3 round monuments (Rings of Honor)with the Memorial Wall behind it, the plaque outlining the history of the Tempe Sister City program, and 2 plaques of some of the important people in the corresponding sister cities (in these photos, the mayor of Skopje, Macedonia at the time of the twinning and an elder in Lower Hutt, New Zealand involved in the program).
