King Chulalongkorn V (1853-1910), also known as Rama 5, is one of the great kings of Thailand, and fondly remembered by his people. Statues of him are frequently to be seen throughout Thailand.

A statue to his memory lies outside the city municipal offices of the town of Rayong in north eastern Thailand. The statue is itself lifesize (maybe slightly larger), and stands on a 1m high plinth. As with most statues in Thailand it is also a shrine.
