On the most southerly tip of Bonaire, the "Willems Tower", the first and oldest lighthouse of Bonaire. This Lighthouse is built in 1837 and in 1838 and takes the form of a Doric column. On August 24, 1838, the birthday of King William I, the lamp of the new lighthouse, for the first time, inflamed and named after the year old King. The present work the lights automatically by using solar cells. Bonaire has four other lighthouses.
