This particular farm brings back memories of the good old days, before Television had reached NZ, when we would gather around the radio in the evening and listen to the Australian radio serial "Snake Gully" with the adventures of Dad and Dave, Mum and Mabel.
For many many years we have driven along this country road, on the way to Taumarunui and the mountains, and have passed by this farm gate with the sign "Snake Gully". It is a favourite wellknown landmark.
The farm is a typical family King Country farm, with sheep and cattle.
The website below refers to the Snake Gully radio program, of which the farm owners must have been dedicated listeners along with many other New Zealanders in the 1950s - 1960s.
