The Morris Cemetery dates back to about 1858. It was started by John Morris as a place where his relatives could rest for eternity. The cemetery sits atop Fancy Gap Mountain and is well maintained and cared for. The Morris cemetery is the final resting place of approximately 550-graves. There are several soldiers resting here, including Sergeant Charles Bedford Morris who was award the Medal of Honor for his heroism on the Battlefied during the Vietnam War
