Long Description:
When the rail line was extended from Ballarat to Daylesford in the 1880's the bridge was created for a train crossing as well as a pedestrian crossing. A photo can be viewed at:

The rail line has long been disbanded but the crossing still exists for the walking trail back into central Daylesford.
