The fist known appearance of the Anchor Bar was in an episode of FoodNation with Bobby Flay in January 2002. Bobby went to several restaurants in Buffalo area and made a brief stop here to talk to owner Ivano Toscani and discuss wings.

In 2007 Bobby Flay paid another visit to the Anchor Bar in a season 2 episode of "Throwdown! with Bobby Flay". He challenged Drew Cerza, the self-proclaimed Wing King and creator of the National Buffalo Wing Festival to a chicken wing throwdown. It took place in the dining room area of the Anchor Bar. Bobby decided to put breading on his wings, which any Buffalonian knows is improper. He ended up losing the throwdown to Cerza's Bourbon style wings.

As best as I can tell, Anchor Bar has also appeared in two
different episodes of "Unwrapped", an episode of
Food Finds, and an episode of
The Secret Life Of....
The most recent appearance of the Anchor Bar was on "Food Wars". This episode aired March 9, 2010 and featured chicken wing creator Anchor Bar vs. Duff's. The latter is widely regarded as some of the best in the Buffalo area by locals. Once again, Anchor Bar was home to the challenge and Duff's came out on top by a 3-2 vote. Personally, I would agree with Duff's being better.
