This is a US Coast and Geodetic Survey and State Survey standard disk, marked F 12 1934, and is located in the northeast corner of Sandown, NH. It is set along the former Worcester, Nashua and Portland branch of the Boston & Maine railroad, which was shut down and dismantled several years ago. The rail bed is now a part of the Rockingham Recreational Trail. This disk does not appear on the NGS list, but it does appear on the NHDOT Geodetic Control datasheets. This is datasheet directions verbatim:

THE STATION IS LOCATED IN THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF SANDOWN, 0.45 MI(0.72 KM) SOUTH FROM THE FREMONT TOWN LINE, 0.2MI(0.3KM) WEST FROM THE DANVILLE TOWN LINE, ALONG AN ABANDONED RAILROAD BED.TO REACH THE STATION FROM THE JUNCTION OF ODELL ROAD AND FREMONT ROAD IN NORTHEAST SANDOWN, GO NORTHEAST FOR 0.55MI ON FREMONT ROAD TO A POWERLINE CROSSING, TURN RIGHT AND GO EAST FOR 0.15MI(0.24KM) ALONG THE POWERLINE TO AN OLD RAILROAD BED, TURN RIGHT AND GO SOUTHWEST FOR 0.1MI(0.2KM)ON THE RAILROAD BED TO THE MARK ON THE LEFT. ALSO 0.3MI(0.5KM) SOUTHWEST ALONG THE RAILROAD BED FROM THE RAILROAD CROSSING ON SANDOWN ROAD AT THE SANDOWN/DANVILLE TOWN LINE. THE STATION IS A STANDARD USCGS AND STATE SURVEY DISK STAMPED -F 12 1934- SET IN A 3FT X 4FT X 0.5FT EMBEDDED BOULDER, 440FT(134.1M)SOUTHWEST OF THE POWER LINE, 31FT(9.4M) SOUTHEAST OF THE RAILROAD BED.

I chose the latter route because I wasn't in my Jeep that day. Keep going north on Fremont Rd past the power lines, and take a right onto North Danville Rd (this is the 'Sandown Rd' the sheet's referring to), and go east until you reach the railroad bed crossing as mentioned on the datasheet.

I have three advisories worth mentioning here:

1. At the present time, North Danville Rd is closed to through traffic because the road is underwater and impassable. This won't be a problem because the barricades are placed just past the rail bed crossing.

2. Along the trail, just past the power lines, there are two signs posted on the left side of the trail bearing the phrase 'STAY ON THE TRAIL OR STAY HOME' (there's one posted in each direction). The station is near these two signs (see photo).

3. CAUTION: Be alert for motorcycle and quad traffic when walking on trail, they frequent this trail on a regular basis. Make sure you see each other to avoid collisions.
