The U of A Football Stadium is located on the far SE corner of campus. It was built in 1928 with a capacity of 7,000 seats. The popularity of Wildcat Football has grown immensely, and the stadium has been renovated to reflect that. The current capacity is 56,000+ seats.
Most seats in the stadium face west, toward the Santa Catalina Mountains, with a great view of the city and the sunset before games.
In 1989 a $6.3 million structure was added to accomodate the media, skyboxes, and loge seating. There are several suites offering a fantastic view of the game, and lease of these suites is $24,500/season, with a 5-yr. committment.
U of A's in-state rival is the Arizona State Sundevils.
On the east side of the stadium, above the dorm, are the words "Home of the Wildcats" which lights up at night and can be seen from blocks away.
I remember from my days on this campus being in the dorm during the games. It was LOUD!
