Evergreen Cemetery was established in 1907, during the pioneer days of Tucson's early development. There are approximately 9,000 internments here, including numerous individuals that helped shape the quickly growing city of Tucson.
The Arizona Historical Society gives tours of the cemetery, telling visitors fascinating stories of some of the citizens buried here.

Evergreen is a very large cemetery, and bordered on the north by another large cemetery (Holy Hope). As the name implies, Evergreen Cemetery grounds are full of beautiful large Evergreen trees, that provide a lot of shade in a typically dry desert cemetery.
