For lack of a better description, the frieze, located under the pediment and above the entablature, has the standard frieze design and also a series of seven square symbolic, relief squares which "illustrate" the iconic history of clocks, clock making and time keeping. Considering the building is only 33 or so years old, they did a nice job with the frieze art and columns to recreate a typical mid-19th century museum.
