A tall memorial cross on the green outside St Mary’s Church, Bayford.

The memorial consists of a tall stone cross on a plinth and three stage octagonal base. The cross carries a depiction of the crucifixion. The plinth has a bas relief of St George and the dragon surrounded by a wreath. On the face opposite to St George is the inscription. The inscription reads
IN MEMORY OF THE MEN OF
BAYFORD AND BRICKENDON
WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR
1914-1919.
BE THOU FAITHFUL UNTO DEATH AND
I WILL GIVE THEE A CROWN OF LIFE.
