Bancroft Gardens bandstand is in the middle of a popular park close to the centre of town. It serves many purposes throughout the year.

This structure, which is mostly wooden, but topped with a tile roof is a covered play area, somewhere for late night drinkers to accumulate and ideal for rainy day picnics. I have never actually seen a band there. It used to be used as a base for one of the Rhythms of the World stages (www.rotw.org.uk) until that moved to a closed venue.
Sadly, it does attract some graffiti from time to time.
