The font is believed to be of saxon origins it was found under a mound in the churchyard in the 1920's. people thought that the it was the Font that St Rumbold was baptised . drawings made in 1824 in the Northampton Records office of the medieval font show that this is not it. the earlier font had been replaced in Scotts restoration, but then having found this one. the 19th century font was removed and this one brought into use. the base is a mill stone from, Twyford Mill
. details from the booklet inside the church
Approximate Age of Artefact: possible saxon origin.
