On the Kasikarm Rd entrance to the Sisaket College of Agriculture and Technology is situated this interesting looking figure. I have been told by several students and locals (allowing for translation errors) that this is the 'logo' (I think that the term: 'patron saint' would be a better translation) of the College.

The name of the dancing figure is Phra Pirun, who is a rain god (this is an agricultural college, in an agricultural region of Thailand), and the snake indicates green fields and much water. After a small amount of searching I have found that this same god is the symbol of several other agricultural universities and colleges in Thailand. Even though this is a 'god' I have been told that this is still part of Buddhism.

In the year 2010 Thailand is experiencing its worst drought in decades, time for divine intervention!
