Beautiful home with an unusual Haddonfield marker. Rather than list the original owner/builders name as with all other markers, this one merely says, 1810.

This is a rather small house, especially when compared to the others on this block. The house does tun deep and has what appears to be a 20th century rear addition. The colors are modest, demure red and tan. The roof looks made of tin and the front and sides have aluminum siding.

For a more detailed and informed physical description of this site, I have added information from the original nomination form sent to me by John P. Byrne, National Register Database Manager (John_Byrne@nps.gov), Department of the Interior. This narrative was created March 16, 1979, mailed in to Washington, D.C. and evaluated April 18, 1980 and finally approved on July 21, 1982. Thanks to this designation and the efforts of the community to stop developers in the early 70s, Haddonfield is permanently protected and is one of the best example of an intact Colonial America, this site one of its principal components.

Very modest and most charming 2-story frame dwelling built in 1810. Garden on each side enclosed by a white picket fence. The "A" roof has an attic floor which drops, saltbox fashion in the rear. WIndows have 4 over 4 lights. Paneled entrance door on side has five-light transom above. Original narrow wood siding has been covered with aluminum siding, same width, but all with cornice details, window trim are original. --- National Register of Historic Places Inventory -- Haddonfield Historic District Nomination Form
