Marker Text: Herbert Engle Allen was assistant general manager of Brooks-Scanlon Lumber Company. An active member of the community, Allen served as the city council, school board and as secretary and treasurer of the Central Oregon Development Company.
Dr. Clyde Rademacher, a Minnesota physician, relocated his practice to Bend in 1930. He lived in the house until the 1970s. Rademacher and several other community doctors established Bend Memorial Clinic. The Allen-Rademacher House is one of the earliest Craftsman Bungalows in Oregon, and is the last remaining house on the east side of Mirror Pond.
