Each capital city of each Thai province has a 'City Pillar Shrine'. These shrines represent the centre and the spirit of the city and the province. In Thai the term is 'Lak Mu-eang' (very difficult for a western to pronounce).

The Shrine for Sisaket is located near the city centre, and adjacent to the government precinct. Right across the road is the city tourism centre—which is closed on weekends. The Sisaket province is one of the smaller and quieter provinces of Thailand. The city population is ~30,000.

The shrine itself is attractive. It eschews the Kymer style shrines of other, nearby provinces (this region had been part of the Kymer empire of a millenium ago), and has a distinctly Thai style. It is relatively small, but well designed and maintained, located in a small grassed enclosure. Inside the shrine is richly endowed with icons and imagery. During the time I was present, maybe a dozen people entered the shrine to pay their respects.

There was no sign present, so I have no knowledge of the history of the shrine. Having said that, while well maintained, it looks to be of some age.
