This historic building is located on the National Register of Historic Sites. Built in 1909, the original tenant, the DeWitt-Seitz Company produced mattresses and was a furniture jobber. After World War II the company focused primarily on mattress manufacture and distribution. In 1961 the company was sold and it became the Happy Sleeper eventually moving to Eau Claire Wisconsin.It is now an upscale retail center with retail stores on the first and second floors and basement with offices on the upper floors.
It is located in the heart of the Canal Park area of Duluth, which features a multitude of upscale hotels, restaurants, shopping, and the scenic tourist type activities of ship watching, Lake Superior, walking and hiking trail and more.
