The "Mermaids on Parade" started in 2000 as a communinty project which raised over $74,000 for the arts in Hampton Roads and other charities. There are now over 375 mermaids welcoming visitors to the various sections of Tidewater.

Seasonal Maid [#244] is located in front of the visitors center at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens near the fountain.
