'This memorial plaque is dedicated with pride, respect and gratitude to the memory of those members of the British Colonial Commonwealth Armed Forces and civilians who in the line of duty and for their country made the supreme sacrifice.

On the memorial are crossed daggers known as Kris with a wavy blade. It is associated with jungle and guerrilla warfare.
