The red and blue plaques are located on a brick pillar in a small commemorative garden. The nearby trees include species from the Indian sub-continent and are in dedication.
The memorial is to those who served in this Navy between 1934 - 1947. The other force was a British Indian Army which operated between 1858 and 1947 recruiting local Indians with British Officers during the British Colonisation of India.
The Indian Army had over 1,500,000 men in the First World War and 2,500,000 in the Second World War; all volunteered for service. The Royal Indian Navy served in the Indian Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, Pacific Ocean, The Mediterranean and Burma.
