The Coldwater Hotel unique profile rises above the Merritt downtown. Built in 1908 as the railways came to this coal mining town, the trains have long gone but the hotel remains. Even the coal mining industry has faded away and ranching and lumber remains the mainstays of the Nicola Valley.
