The water tank and its supporting column have a consistent diameter and wall thickness. The Ogilvie Water Tower is thought to be the only concrete standpipe still in use in the state.
The tower is near the intersection of Anderson Street and Ciro Avenue in Ogilvie, Minnesota. It is adjacent to Tower Park. The water tower is included in NOAA's database of survey markers. As a "benchmark," it is called Ogilvie Municipal Standpipe and has the ID QO1626.
This water tower was placed on the National Register in 1980, as no. 80002087.
