The sculpture depicts a young Abraham Lincoln wearing boots, trousers with suspenders, a work shirt and vest. He is holding an ax in both hands across his body. The fiberglass sculpture stands approximately 35-feet tall. It was placed in honor of the Illinois Sesquicentennial in 1968.
