The Lazy A Motel is a 13 unit motel now apartments built along the historic U.S. Hwy 66.  The motel a "mom and pop" operation was completed in 1949.  The u-shaped motel was built in  Southwest Vernacular style which is unusual in this part of the country.  At the time of construction the Lazy was noted as being well built and appointed.  As the alignment of the highway was changed and with the introduction of the interstate highway system the motel declined and then was converted to apartments as it is today.
