AT & SF Caboose ~ Medicine Lodge, KS - Train Cabooses on Waymarking.com

I arrived in Medicine Lodge around 4PM and saw this caboose across the street from and large veterans memorial. I stopped here, and no one was around.
I found a motel room, and asked there. No one seemed to know what it was used for. They all thought it just sat there.

I took the photos the next day about 6:30am in very heavy rain, so they look dark.
Inside the caboose is an office, out side is zero markings, besides the vague AT&SF design. I could not even find the outlines you sometimes can see under new paint.

This site says it is a Great Northern Caboose X282; formerly BN 11309. Santa Fe?

Current Use: Insides converted to an office, and I assume it is a visitors center, but no signs exist, and no one was around on either day. This did not even have an "open" or "closed" sign. Type Of Caboose: Cupola, "Standard"
