A classic red telephone kiosk is found miles away from the mother country in one of the original British colonies of the New World -- Virginia. The bright red booth seemingly stands out of place in front of the office for Economic Development and Tourism at the Stafford County Administration Center.

Donated by the Rotary Club, a plaque installed on an interior side of the booth reads:

A Gift From STAFFORD ROTARY CLUB To The COUNTY OF STAFFORD
On The Occassion[sic] Of The Dedication Of The County Administration Building.
November 16, 1991
"Let Our Civic Duty Be A Link Between Past History And The Future. May God Bless."

Stafford County was the site of the first English settlers in Virginia.

Colour: It's red!

Is it in its original position?: Yes

Is there a working telephone in it?: No
