The monument consists of an iron statue on a stone monument with a metal plaque. The iron statue was made by J.W. Fiske Ironworks in New York.
The plaque reads as follows:
DEDICATED TO THE RESIDENTS OF

WHO GAVE THIER SERVICES TO THE
CAUSE OF HUMANITY IN THE
