Constructed as a Works Progress Administration
(WPA) project, in addition to serving as the local jail,
this building also held City Council meetings. The
Chamber of Commerce also used the jail for their
offices at one point in time.

The Peoria Jail House Museum was built in the mid 1930's, as a WPA Project, the old Jail House was restored in 2002 to its 1938 decor with funds and hard work from members of the Peoria Arizona Historical Society.
Peoria Jail House Museum is open for tours Sunday: 1PM - 4PM
and by appointment during the week.
