Marker Name: B22 - Pilot Butte Inn Site
Marker Text: This is the site of the Pilot Butte Inn, which was known far and wide as an excellent small hotel. Built by Phillip Brooks of the Brooks Mill Family, the Inn was a focal point for community activities for many years. A massive lava rock fireplace, wrought iron detailing and a six-foot-by-seventeen-foot plate glass window improted from France placed the in a class by itself. Over the years the Inn hosted many famous people, including Eleanor Roosevelt and Herbert Hoover. The Inn was demolished in 1973 after a long battle by local citizens to save it.
