This is the watertower prominently featured in the movie, Ferris Bueller's Day Off. You might remember it said "Save Ferris" upon it for the movie. John Hughes was given permission to have the watertower painted for his movie as long as he had the whole thing repainted with its "sky" color that it has had since it was built.

This tower is also significant because Northbrook was the first village on the north shore to have Lake Michigan water pumped directly to it's residents.
