The Carnegie Library of Albany is located on N Jackson St next to the Albany Municipal Auditorium, Albany, GA.

Carnegie Library, named for its benefactor Andrew Carnegie and built in 1906, served as the main library until 1966. In 1992, Carnegie Library became the administrative offices of the Albany Area Arts Council and serves as an arts welcome center, a meeting facility for arts & entertainment organizations, and an excellent site for receptions and meetings. The building can be rented for private functions. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, in 1993 Carnegie Library was presented the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation Award for Outstanding Adaptive-Use Rehabilitation.

The Carnegie Library, built in 1906 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, first opened its doors on April 11, 1906. The building continued in operation as the main library until 1966 when it became a business branch, serving the needs of the central business district.

Following the renovation of the Ford Motor Company building at 300 Pine Avenue as the new main library in 1985, the Carnegie Library closed and remained closed until September 21, 1992 when the ribbon cutting ceremony was held for the administrative offices of the Albany Area Arts Council.

In 1993 the Carnegie Library Building was presented The Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation Award for Outstanding Adaptive-Use Rehabilitation. The public is welcome to visit this 20th century, Neo-classical building which serves as an arts-welcome center, a useful facility for arts & entertainment organizations, and an excellent site for receptions and meetings.
