"Raekoja 6. Known since 1337 as town prison (domus tortiris), colloquially as the Hamlet Barn. It includes a front hall, three long barrell-vaulted prison cells, two smaller cells and two toilets. There is also a small inner courtyard. The prison obtained its current appearence in 1441.42m when construction works were lead by the stonecutters of the Town Council, Gerke van Helmede (from Helme), Hans Wiborch (from Viibur) and Hans Howesten (stonecutter). In one cellar, the prison chains have been preserved.
Raekoja 4. The two roomed (kitchen with a fromt hall and bedroom) Civil Servants' lodgins that was later called "tolkes hus" (the house of the translator), was created by joining two small 14th centery dwellings. The building is utilarian and rustically bulky.
The Polish "PKZ" converted the buildings to the Tallinn City Museum in 1980" From the sign in front of the building.
