Weston is the second oldest town in Umatilla County. The site of Weston was purchased by T.T. Lieuallen in 1866 from an earlier settler and he built the first buildings at the site. The Weston Post Office was established in Sept. 1869. On July 22, 1875 a fire destroyed 17 buildings on Main and Waters Street, including more than half of the businesses in town. The town was incorporated on October 19, 1878.
The Weston Commercial Historic District includes 3.23 acres of the historic business core of the agricultural community of Weston, Oregon. It includes two blocks on both sides of Main Street between Broad Street to the east and Water Street to the west. The district currently includes 12 buildings: 9 primary structures, 2 secondary structures, and one non-historic building (1960 Post Office).
