Longtime Naperville resident Dick Locher became illustrator of the comic strip in 1983 and eventually became the author as well. He created this statue.
In the late 1930's there was a Dick tracy film serial, which starred Ralph Byrd. Most people are more familiar with the 1990 film version which featured Warren Beatty.
