Let us never, ever forget
Those that heed the Call
I myself salute those who serve
With Honor, one and All.

This striking granite Obelisk sits in the center of Liebscher Drive, which loops around Prince Solms Park. Most people come here to launch themselves down the tube chutes (and today was warm enough, I was tempted). But this 'memorial' is worth a stray.

The monument itself appears to be grainite, in the Egyptian obelisk form [think Cleopatra's Needle, or the Washington monument]. In addition to the obelisk, the sidewalks leading in from the four cardinal points (hmmm, this could work like a sundial) are lined with 'dedication bricks.'

A nearby flagpole features the US and POW/MIA flags.

And I have to say, it's the CLEANEST park I've ever been to.

Unfortunately, other than the information on the obelisk itself, I have been unable to find any online information, including dates and so forth. Perhaps a later waymarker can fill in those gaps.
