Copper Mountain park was created as a reclaimation project. Where the park is now once stood thousands of tons of mining waste rock and mill tailings. The park is now a multi-use complex.

The Copper Mountain Park sports complex began life as dump site for many of the local mines. Butte-Silver Bow County and ARCO, the main mining company began a clean-up process that returned the area back into a productive place for local residents. There are two interpretive signs located near the center of the complex that explains the process in detail.
This park includes 2 softball fields, 2 baseball fields, a walking trail, children's playground, several basketball hoops, volleyball courts, driving range, room for soccer fields, plenty of parking, restrooms, a snack bar, and picnic benches.
