This is the narrowest of all the covered bridges in Illinois.

The Thompson Mill Covered Bridge was built in 1886, at a cost of $2500.
It Spans the Kaskaskia river with a span of 105 feet.
It was buitl wih Howe trusses which cross each other for more strength.
Current Condition of Bridge: Excellent, for its age.

Description of Covered Bridge:
The bridge is off the beaten path, as most are. But it is still a wonderful sight to see. There is a sign that warns people of security camera are watching the bridge at all times. It is excellent condition. It seems that the state is keeping a watch on the bridges wellfare.


Year Built: 1868.

Parking (If not at the bridge):: At foot of bridge.
