The American German Club strives to promote: The Cultural Value of German Customs, Opportunities for Good Fellowship ‘Gemütlichkeit’, Preservation of German Cultural Artifacts for Future Generations, Education of the Public of Palm Beach County.
In 1967 a small Group of Americans of German descent decided to form a club with purpose of preserving the traditions, culture and heritage of their German Homeland. Since then, many dedicated members have given their time and talents to perpetuating and amplifying our founders' original purpose.
Maifest, one of mankind’s oldest traditions, is the celebration of nature’s bright reawakening after winter’s darkness and often called the "Oktoberfest’s Little Sister". Enjoy live music, delicious German food, and a selection of German beers. Activities include folk dancing and the wrapping of the Maypole. Saturday, May 22, Noon to 11 pm and Sunday May 23, Noon to 8 pm.
Every year the American-German Club of the Palm Beaches, Inc., hosts its traditional Oktoberfest on the second and third weekend of October. Held on ten acres of ground, under our pavilion and massive tent, our "Original Oktoberfest" is one of the largest in the country!
“Masskrugstemmen,” which translates loosely to the lifting of a liter mug of beer, is a well-known and a competitive Bavarian sport. NOT A DRINKING CONTEST! The “Masskrug,” a 1 Liter Stein is held with one arm, completely stretched out and parallel to the floor. The goal is simple: To hold a filled stein as long as possible! The American German Club of the Palm Beaches, holds qualifications for US Championship in “Masskrugstemmen” Finals in New York City and the winner receives a trip to Munich, Germany.
